Dream on…On Wednesday, September 2 (at 1:23 am EST) the Full Corn Moon
will arrive in the intuitive and flowy water sign of Pisces, setting the month off on
a dreamy note.
As the Wheel of the Year spins towards the Season of the Witch, we open the door
to the last part of this chaotic year with an emotional full moon, followed by a
New Moon in Virgo (for practical new beginnings) on the 17th, the International
Day of Peace on the 21st and Mabon/Autumn Equinox on the 22nd….all of which
sets the stage for a rare Halloween Blue Moon!
September’s full moon is truly the start of something deep. It arrives to open new
doors, shedding light on what needs to be seen and done: “when the Moon
rides at her peak, then your heart’s desire seek.” The power of the moons
esoteric beams cannot be overstated. It pulls the tides and our emotional oceans,
helping us work through some of the pain we have all experienced during this
There’s only one thing to do under this full moon: Surrender to
the universe’s divine wisdom of a light and love that will finally bring peace to
planet earth. For whatever path you’re on, this Pisces moon asks us all to show up
in a whole new way. You and me? We were made for these times…
Ruled by ethereal Neptune, god of the seas, Pisces is all about that water. For
that reason, my favorite full moon rituals involve water and getting witchy wild.
• Give your crystals a full moon bath to clean their energy and recharge
them with the light of the moon goddess Luna. Set them outside to bask
in the moonlight for 24 hours
• Have a divination party: Invite friends to pull tarot or oracle cards
• Soak in a salt bath to clear any toxins or psychic attachments
• This is a great day to spend by a body of water...swimming, floating,
dreaming, and letting your heart open up to the sky
Ritual-Beach Moon Bath
The beach is an ideal place to practice moon magick. To strengthen your
connection with the moon and absorb its energy, take a moon bath after sunset.
Light three tea or charm candles—one to represent the waxing moon, one for the full
moon, and one for the waning moon. Then simply sit under the moon and allow
its energy to seep into your skin. Breathe in the moonbeams and let yourself
become immersed in its energy.
Gaze at the sea, meditating on the natural cycles of the moon and the tides. Think
about the natural cycles that you honor in your own life like the ebb and flow of
your work week or the way your activities change with the seasons.
If you’ve been feeling off-balance, allow this beach moon bath to bring you back into alignment. If it’s warm enough, let the water move over your feet as you bask in the lunar energy all around you. When you are finished thank the moon and the sea and
blow out your candles.
Allow the Light of the Full Moon to light you up...allow Her powers to cascade through your mind, heart, body, and soul, that she may replenish you with the most healing power of all: love.
