7 yoga room décor ideas

Have you thought about creating a private space in your home that would be dedicated to practicing yoga only? Well, congratulations on your excellent idea! We love and support all things where you carve out a special place that could make you feel calm and welcomed.

Creating a yoga room is a way of creating a balance between what happens around you and what happens within you. There is something truly calming when thinking of a secluded yoga corner dedicated only to your needs! If you are looking for a good starting point on how to decorate the space, then keep on reading! We have found the perfect décor ideas that could make the space radiate happiness, peace, and serenity.

  1.   Start with the wall

Décor means nothing if you don’t pay a little attention to the wall before focusing on everything else. The first home décor idea you should work on is finding a suitable color that works well with your space. This means you need to focus on the bright and tender colors and maybe even go for a soft, pastel option!

The color of the wall can play an important role in setting the room's mood. This is why it is often suggested to use light and calming colors, such as soft lavender, tender beige, or a soothing blue. It can make all the difference!

  1.   Start with the basics – a yoga mat

Choosing the perfect yoga mat for your yoga room can be quite a challenge! If you are a beginner, there are many options for you to consider before finally choosing the right one. Think about the quality of the material, and the thickness of the mat, and check out some different designs too!

There are plenty of mats out there that could fulfill your needs – we advise that you opt for some mats which are bright and colorful. That way, they could spruce up the place even more!

  1.   Add some plants

This is one of those must-haves if you invest in a room that would serve your mental health and overall well-being. Plants have always been considered a home décor that can easily be incorporated into any style, starting from industrial to modern – and even classic! Not to mention, they have purifying and healing properties, perfect for elevating the atmosphere.

Naturally, having them included in your newly created room is the logical choice! Depending on the plant that you choose, you can benefit from purified air, a sense of calmness, and a natural feel.

This is what can help you get more in touch with nature and yourself. If you want to take things a step further, opt for some soft-colored pots that will make the space more lively.

  1.   Add some lights

Set the mood right by adding some strategically placed lighting all over the place. If you are one of those people that practice during the afternoon, or before the day is over, then you need to incorporate some interesting lighting options for you. Think about some soft lighting. A decorative table lamp or many candles around the room's corners can set the mood perfectly, and make you want to practice yoga for hours!

If you are going for the option of adding some candles, remember not to leave them unattended, and to keep them far away from anything that is even slightly flammable. Blow the candles away as soon as you are done using your yoga room.

  1.   Ignite all your senses

The perfect way to do this would be by incorporating some essential oils into your home décor project. If you have a few favorite essential oils, you can use them in this room and let them work their magic. They will help you relax and get into the mood to meditate and focus on healing your inner self. Any calming scent would be a good choice.

Of course, another option is to cleanse the room with a sage stick before you begin. This is another powerful practice if you wish to have a solid space for practicing yoga.

  1.   Think about a wall mirror

When you are doing yoga, there are some poses where you might feel like you need a little bit of guidance, or someone that could help you do everything right. Well, by adding a mirror to your yoga room, you can help yourself!

Even though a larger mirror can be a little bit expensive, it is a great investment for your space. It will not only provide you with the yoga studio vibe you’re looking for, but will also give you the power to observe yourself and see if you are doing the poses right. Either way, it is a win-win option, and you will get the most out of it!

  1.   Something for when you are done

Most of us are aware that Shavasana is the final pose where you let your body relax and soak in everything that you have worked on for the past hour or so. If you want to make this pose a little more relaxing and soothing for you, then why not add a lavender-scented eye pillow to your routine? Lavender calms down the body and soothes the spirit, and the pillow can help you block out the light in the room. It also smells like heaven, and for a brief moment, it will make you forget about the concept of time and space.

We can only hope that you will find these yoga room décor ideas helpful, and maybe you will incorporate at least some of them into your sacred yoga space! Whatever you decide to do in the end, remember that this is your cleansing spot – so focus on making it personal!
