What if consciousness experiences all of our incarnations within one vast field, while the human mind experiences them as past, present and future?

Imagine a book already whole. Page 30 exists, page 180 exists and page 400 exists. The character living on page 180 experiences page 30 as the past and page 400 as the future, while the one holding the entire book can see all of the pages at once.

I keep feeling that consciousness works much more like this.

What we call a past life may be another coordinate within the same enormous field of consciousness, and what we call a future life may simply be another coordinate within that field. From inside the human experience, we perceive them as before and after because our awareness moves through Earth time sequentially, while the Divine Self may be capable of holding many expressions simultaneously.

Past me, present me and future me become different points of awareness within one much larger consciousness.

This changes the way I understand remembrance and also the way I understand communication across timelines. I have learned that I can consciously connect with what I experience as my “past” and “future” selves, receive information from them, speak to them and sometimes feel something shift across those timelines.

If they are expressions within the same consciousness field, then this begins to make sense to me. Information does not have to move backward or forward through time in the way we normally imagine it, it can move through the field.

And the communication does not feel one-directional. A “past” version of me may hold something that helps me understand what I am experiencing now, while the consciousness I am embodying now may bring awareness, healing or a different choice into what I perceive as that other timeline. A “future” self may offer insight into a possibility I am moving toward, while choices I make here can shift the pathway through which I reach it.

This could be why certain places feel overwhelmingly familiar, why a dream can feel more like a memory, why we sometimes meet someone and immediately know them, or why standing inside an ancient temple can awaken something in the body long before the mind understands what is happening.

Something nonlinear is being translated through a human nervous system, so it arrives as images, emotions, sensations, people, places and stories. The infinite becomes something the embodied mind can receive.

And perhaps this is part of the purpose of the veil. Incarnation creates a powerful localization of consciousness, allowing us to be fully here, immersed in this particular life and making choices that matter without simultaneously experiencing every other incarnation, relationship, civilization and possible future held within the greater field.

Yet sometimes the veil thins through dreams, meditation, hypnosis, déjà vu, ceremony, sacred places or spontaneous remembrance, and another coordinate becomes perceptible. There can be a strange recognition in the body, a sense of I know this. I have been here. I remember.

And if all of these expressions exist within one larger field, healing takes on an entirely different meaning. When I shift something here, I may be changing more than this present moment. When I connect with another version of myself and bring awareness, forgiveness, love or a different possibility into that connection, the movement may ripple through the larger field.

Touch one point and the whole pattern can respond.

Perhaps time is far more spacious than we have understood, and consciousness is far less confined by it.
