Arrival is day one of your 24 day training, Departure is final day of you 24 full days of training. Graduation is evening on day 23. You will be finished and free to go anytime on day 24.
Ngurah Rai International Airport is a 2-hour drive away.
Megan your lead facilitator lives in Bali and will help arrange drivers for airport pick-up that she knows and trusts once you book.
We recommend that you exchange money at the airport. Keep in mind the highest denomination Indonesian bill is equivalent to just $7.50, so if you change large amounts of USD, you'll be carrying a large stack of Indonesian rupiah!
If you plan to stay longer than 30 days to explore the island before or after the training, you must find the Visa On Arrival (VOA) counter at the airport before proceeding through immigration, and pay the 500k rupiah ($35 USD) fee for an extendable 30-day visa (called a VOA). The VOA is extendable for up to an additional 30 days (for 60 days total). We can help you arrange the extension, which will cost another 900k idr ($65 USD) and require a trip to the immigration office on one of the days off.
If, however, you're coming just for the training and plan to be in Bali for 30 days or fewer, you are considered a "visa-exempt" tourist, and upon arrival at the airport, you can proceed directly to the immigration counter without paying. You're free to stay in Indonesia for 30 days. (If you accidentally overstay the 30 days, a 1 million idr ($71 USD) per day penalty will be charged at departure.)
We start our retreat in Sideman, considered the holiest village in Bali. In the valley of the sacred volcano, Mt. Agung, our venue, Subak Tabola Villa, features endless rice field views, sprawling to the sea. About an hour away in all directions from the main tourist areas, this is the "real Bali." Our venue host, Ibu Ati, is a Balinese priestess, who welcomes us with open arms to her temples to participate in Balinese ceremonies.
Subak Tabola in Sideman is surrounded by nature, massive sprawling gardens and lotus ponds. The views of the rice-field terraced valley of Sidemen are breathtaking from every part of the expansive property. The villa features Balinese-style rooms with private terraces overlooking the mountains, beautiful outdoor pool and sun terrace. There are also two yoga shalas, an outdoor one with a Ganesha statue and an indoor air conditioned one. Free Wi-Fi is accessible in all areas.
Pondok Pitaya, our home in Balian, is a gorgeous sprawling garden property set directly on the Indian Ocean. Our wooden yoga shala is wedged between the Balian River and the sea, with stunning water views on 3 sides. Even our private dining area looks directly out over the sea.
Like all of Bali's south coast, the dark volcanic sand here glitters in the sun, and the turquoise water of Balian is a secret paradise for surfers.
Like stepping back in time to our ancestral roots, we’ll stay in traditional wooden houses--less luxurious than the rooms in Sidemen, but with all the comforts you need (air conditioning, hot water showers, and comfy beds!) With a swimming pool (and stunning ocean just steps away), you'll have plenty of time to enjoy the sun, sand, and sea. From this coast, we're blessed with vibrant sunsets every night over the water.

* Homework is nightly consisting short writing assignments that compliment your studies, readings, and working on class sequencing based on that day's asana learning. we send you these short exercises as soon as you enroll so you can complete prior to training if you wish.

Please purchase the book- "The Heart of Yoga" by TKV Desikachar.
You do not need to bring this book to the training, as the information in our manual (which you'll receive in hard copy) is derived from it, but it will serve as your lifelong yoga study companion. Before arriving at the course, Please read Part III of the The Heart of Yoga,"The Yoga Sutra of Patanjali" with translation and commentary by TKV Desikachar.
