The Divine Rose-Flower of the Heart
Myths and mysteries, magick and medicine...with rose all four are quintessentially the same. The Rose is the most powerfully heart healing flower available to us on this magickal planet. The petals as well as the oil & rosewater were often used in magickal rituals to honor the gods & goddesses. But the flower is not the only part used in divination & magick. Rose hips can be strung like beads on a thread and worn as a necklace to attract love. Drinking rosehip tea is thought to increase one's powers of prophecy. And, ironically, for a flower that is often given as a gift, the most powerful roses are said to be those that have been stolen from another person's garden.
Historically, the flower itself was a symbol of female sexuality & is associated with Cupid, Eros, Adonis, Aphrodite, Isis, Hathor, & Demeter.

Held as Lord Krishna’s favorite flower, rose is more than 70 million years old and its role in Ayurveda is of utmost importance. Ayurvedic texts explain that the rose and the essential oil extracted from it balance Sadhaka pitta that controls feelings and their effects on the heart and Prana vata that governs the mind, sensory perception, head, chest and respiration.
Truth be told, we’re kind of obsessed with roses. Most people feel drawn to Roses and associate them as a symbol of romantic love, forgiveness or compassion. There’s something so wonderfully stirring about the scent of roses. No flower is more recognizable & no aroma more evocative. And rose oil is known as the "Queen of Essential Oils." Of all the flowers and plants grown on this earth, roses carry the highest vibration (320MHz) and with it come incredible properties that can effectively open the heart to compassion, forgiveness, and love while reducing stress, anxiety and worry. Roses can also be extremely beneficial medicinally and energetically to those in the process of healing from loss. With the help of the rose we can look within and focus on the healing of our own heart. It’s the best self love medicine.

According to Greek myth, the goddess of flowers, Chloris, one day found the body of a beautiful nymph & asked the help of the Three Graces to create a very special flower out of the lifeless body of the nymph. The Graces gave the flower joy, brightness & charm. Then she asked Aphrodite, the goddess of love, to give the flower beauty; Dionysus, the god of wine to add special nectar to create a beautiful perfume, and Zephyr the wind god to blow away the clouds so that the precious flower could open her petals to the sun. Thus, the rose was born & crowned the Queen of Flowers, emblem of Venus & the symbol of love.
